A Week of Firsts!

Hi there! Happy Monday!

Last week was such a whirlwind of activity for me that I am still catching my breath! :)
Lots of creative energy being used in the craft room and I think I need a quick recharge!

First of all, I won my first challenge - yay for me! I am still floored and humbled by the whole thing! :)
Here's the winning cutie - for coloring brunette hair with Copics on my "Leslie Vacations" card:

And this Friday, I will be part of my very first blog hop! I took the plunge and signed up for this:

What an honor to be part of this - there is so much talent that will be showcased here! So the craft room is a crazy mess of paper, ink, buttons and markers as I put the finishing touches on my creations! I hope all of you will join in on the fun and hop along - there will be prizes for those of us participating in the blog hop as well as for some lucky hoppers! Pretty fabulous stuff!

One more bit of adorableness I wanted to share that I found on the blog of talented Denice Bartucci:

I think I am just beginning to shine...! A HUGE thank you for all of your support, sweet encouraging comments and for simply stopping by to look around! I am truly blessed by ALL OF YOU.

Cool Color Blocking - CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC7

Hi there. So I am attempting to create some sort of routine in posting. And stepping out of my comfort zone to try something new. Challenges help me to do that.

I really have no set style, but certain things in the crafting world intrigue me. Like CAS or clean and simple designs, which tend to be harder for me because I like cute and bling and foo foo stuff. :)

So another first for me - a clean and simple color blocking design for CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC7.

My "Home Sweet Home" Color Block Card:
My camera and I keep having these misunderstandings...and my cards looked kinda bowed out! Well I am a blog newbie, so I am always learning! :) Practice, patience, repeat...

Sending You Some Sunshine

Hi there. So we are in the dog days of summer here in Arizona. Hot, hotter and I think I'm on fire LOL!
In honor of our forecast of 108° this week, I am sending you some sunshine because we have far too much of it at this point!

When I discovered Karber Digis recently, I immediately fell in LOVE with their adorable images! So fun and whimsical and right up my creative alley! Leslie is one of my new favorite cuties! I printed the image a bit large, so my card is oversized (6 x 5 1/2) to accommodate that error in judgement. I think she is just perfect for sharing my overload of summer sunshine!

My 'Leslie Vacations' Card:
I like to say that I am a Copic beginner with LOTS of training! :)
This was very challenging for me to color with all of the circular images.
Practice will make perfect...this is my Copics mantra!
I LOVE the cute yellow polka dots stamped on the middle paper strip.

Sparkly Stickles were added to her sunglasses & sandals.
Diamond Glaze was used to create glossy lenses. FUN. :)
And don't you just LOVE her little toes?!

In Honor of Dad

Hi there! To all of you dads out there - Happy Father's Day!

I have been one busy pickle lately and this is the first bit of time I have had to post something new.
This weekend, I had a wonderful day of scrapbooking with my fun crafty friends - but my mind was focused on getting some cards done. Especially one for my dad for Father's Day.

Masculine cards are brutal for me - I am a cutesy blingy kinda girl! I know Dad loves cars and golf, but I think his love of cars tops the list. When I found this fantabulous vintage paper from Graphic 45, I immediately thought of Dad and I have to say I am pleased with the end result. I hope Dad likes it too!
Happy Father's Day, Dad! I love you!

My Father's Day Card:

Stuff I Used:
Graphic 45 Paper - On the Boulevard (A Proper Gentleman Collection)

I hope you get to enjoy some time with your dad today. Thanks for stopping by!

The Pickle Premiere!

Hi all! This is my FIRST blog post and I am SO nervous about it. Gotta step outside of my comfort zone...!

Being creative and giving your art to someone you love vs. putting it out for everyone in the entire blogosphere to see is a bit unnerving! So I have created many somethings and then said to myself - I am NOT putting THAT on my blog! Thus my silence. And no posting. Then I remembered why I wanted to do this - to share my creative ideas openly and not worry about pleasing everyone. I am not Picasso or Van Gogh...that's a little outta my league, but hey, one can dream! LOL!

So, without further delay - a BIG hello to you! Welcome to my little creative space! I hope you enjoy what I create. And some of my silly commentary from time to time. I get so much inspiration from so many of you out there with such grand talents! I would LOVE to hear your comments and appreciate all of you being here.
