Organized chaos, a challenge and a colorful card!

Hi there.

So I am still getting used to my new crafty calendar and I keep finding more inspiration and fun challenges to add to it. It has become organized chaos LOL! My brain is thinking faster than I can create! Some of my blog buddies submit stuff to 5 or more challenges at once - I am not quite that skilled yet. So 1 or 2 at a time is fine with me for now! I will get it down eventually. :)

I am intrigued by interesting color combinations  - not always easy to use and create with. So when I saw the latest Colour Q challenge, I wasn't won over immediately! But I found it was really fun thinking outside of the box to create something using this color combo. I really love the way this card turned out and I hope you like it too! :)

Here are the colors for this challenge:

Here is my colorful creation - My "Let's Play" Card:

I love using patterned paper and paper piecing when I use Paper Smooches stamps! These furry and feathered cuties were stamped and embossed on patterned paper and fussy cut. I stamped their eyes on white cardstock - a fun thing about these images is you can change where they are looking just by how you stamp the eyes and glue them on. All of the animals and their toys are popped up with dimensional adhesive.

I created the balls for the bird and dog using solid dot stamps, pigment ink and a circle punch. Then I used parts of other Paper Smooches stamp sets to create the details on them. The 'bounce' of the dog's tennis ball was created the same way. That's why these are some of my favorite stamps - they are so versatile and fun! I wrapped the kitty's ball with bakers twine and secured it with adhesive on the back. I used Glossy Accents to secure the twine loops to the card.

Challenges:  Colour Q Challenge #94
Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge - use animals and punches

Stuff I Used:
Stamps: Paper Smooches - 'Chubby Chums' (dog, kitty, bird, sentiment), 'Perky Plants', 'Sugar Rush', 'Swanky Snowdudes' (for the ball details and the 'bounce'), AMuse Studio 'Lots of Dots'
Paper: Stampin' Up DP, AMuse Studio Sugar (white) CS,Grass Gingham CS
Ink: AMuse Studio Blackberry & Lime, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Copics: Bird - Y15, Dog - R27, Cat - 100
Other Stuff: Creative Memories Circle Punches, Ranger Clear Embossing Powder, Stampin' Up Dimensionals, Glossy Accents, Orange Divine Twine

Thanks for stopping by today - you make me smile! :)

Busy as a bee and a bee card too!

Hi there!

Wowzers, I have been busy as a bee lately! I am trying to get my crafting time organized so I spent yesterday setting up my crafty calendar in Google. Then I can remember what in the world I wanna do. So many things to do, so little time, so darn tired LOL

I created this card for a sketch challenge, but I didn't get it posted by the deadline. :( It's OK - I found some other challenges it will fit right into! I am working hard to use my stash, especially my 6x6 paper pads with all of that yummy coordinated paper. It can still be difficult to get the right combo. With this card, I think I got it! I think it turned out SO cute and of course, I wanted to share. :)

My 'Bee Happy' Card:

This card has multiple layers going on - polka dot squares, striped triangles & a floral backdrop for the bees. The solid rectangle helps the bees stand out in the middle of all the "busy"stuff. The sentiment is punched out and layered under the rectangle. See the matching bubbles on the corners? Those were made with scraps of paper, the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio tool & round 14 bubble caps! It makes matching epoxy embellies in a jiffy.

Here is a close up so you can see the bling and the Copic Spica pen used for
the girl bee's eyeshadow and lipstick. I do LOVE bee-utiful bling! :)

Stuff I Used:
Karber 'Bee Love' Digis, Paper Smooches 'Bee Happy' Digi Sentiment
Echo Park 'Springtime' 6x6 Paper, AMuse Studio Sugar CS, SU Melon Mambo CS
Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles, SU Decorative Label Punch
Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass, Stickles - Star Dust & Cotton Candy
Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool (Round 14) & Button Caps

Boy Bee: Y21, Y23, Y26  Heart: RV29

Thanks for stopping by! Now I am off to relax with Hubby!

Just a cute card to share - and another CAS-ual Fridays challenge!

Hi there. I don't know why, but it seems like it's been forever since I last posted! Hope you missed me. :)

I am working on a few different cards at the moment which I hope to post by the end of the week, but this one is for someone special in my family. It also fits right into this week's CAS-ual Fridays (CFC 10) challenge!

My sister-in-law just had open heart surgery late last week and is thankfully doing very well! I wanted to make her a happy get well card and this is what I created. I think this will make her smile. :)
I love you, Terri!

My "Feel Better from the Heart" Card:
Um YES, I DO love kraft. :) And I LOVE Lawn Fawn stamps - they are absolutely adorable! The heart and bandaid are popped up with dimensionals and the white "trim" is created using my lovely Signo Uniball white pen.

Here's the inside of the card - I scored the top left corner of the back of the card so it would open easily and not ruin the smooth front panel of the heart. It's kinda plain now, but it will be filled with happy thoughts!

Stuff I Used:
Lawn Fawn 'On the Mend' Stamps
Cardstock - Gina K Kraft, AMuse Blush CS, Stampin Up Red Polka Dot DP
Spellbinders Scalloped Hearts Dies
Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, SU Dimensionals, Signo Uniball Broad white pen

Thanks for stopping by! And I do love and appreciate your comments - they really make my day! :)

Another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

Hi again! This is my second post for today - just in time to beat the deadline for this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

This week's challenge is to create a Clean And Simple (CAS) masculine project using kraft cardstock, which I love! CAS is not my usual style, but I do love a challenge! Since practice makes perfect, here we go again LOL! I also LOVE coffee and I own many coffee stamps. I came across these in my stash and decided to ink 'em up.

Here is what I created for my hubby (HUBBY - DON'T PEEK!). He sure is the sugar - 100% super sweet! :)

My "Great Coffee" Card:
To draw focus to the coffee cup & sentiment, I matted the kraft cardstock on a cream base (although it looks kinda white in the picture). I LOVE that corrugated paper diamond! I seem to be on a red & blue kick lately! I think it's just such a nice color combo with the kraft!
Just a side view to show how I popped up the diamonds to balance out the thickness of the corrugated paper. I embossed the blue diamond too. And don'tcha just LOVE that button? It reminds me of cherry candy! Twine is a great masculine embellishment - it just seemed to finish the card off nicely.

Stuff I Used:
Stamps - Gel-a-tins 'Coffee Break'
Cardstock - Kraft Journal Kraft, Prism Ivory, SU Real Red & Baja Breeze,
Canvas Corp. Flute Tiles, Calendar Paper (random stash)
All The Other Stuff - Cuttlebug Argyle Embossing Folder, Brown & White Bakers Twine (random stash),
Handmade Red Heart Button-Jane Beljo (janeb74 on Etsy), Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, Dimensional Adhesive

Thanks for stopping by again today - TWICE is NICE. :)

Young Crafters Unite Blog Hop

Hi there! Welcome to Young Crafters Unite Blog Hop! And welcome to my blog!

If you have been hoppin' with us today, you should have arrived here from Bunny Vance's blog.

The theme of this blog hop is not just about sharing some of our favorite things with you, but also that we are young crafters - not necessarily in age, but truly young at heart. For me, my favorite things in the world of paper and ink go hand in hand with being young at heart!

I am in LOVE with adorable images that are humorous and whimsical. Sometimes certain images reflect a fond memory of mine as a child or they are just so darn cute that I MUST add them to my stash and use them to create something special! Some of my favorites include Mo Manning's amazing digital art, adorable Paper Smooches stamps and super cute Lawn Fawn stamps. I also love coloring with Copics and paper piecing.

Now let's get to the good stuff! I hope you enjoy the cards I created using some of my favorite things!
(In case you want to know what stuff I used, my supply list will be at the very end of this post.)

My "Wish Big" Card (using Mo Manning's Cotton Candy digi):
Isn't she just the CUTEST?! Of course, I had to use my Copics to color this cutie. She reminded me of ME as a little girl in ponytails loving the ginormous cotton candy at the County Fair! I didn't want to share with anyone and I would eat the stuff until I felt sick LOL! The bright colors just make me happy! The layers are popped up with 3D dots for dimension.

My "Veg Out" Card (using Paper Smooches & Lawn Fawn stamps):

Another favorite of mine is paper piecing AKA fussy cutting! I love to mix up different prints to create texture and use bright colors that are eye catching. Since these veggies are out in the sun - I just had to give them some sunglasses! The cloud and sun are popped up with 3D dots for dimension.

That's all for me! Your next stop on the hop will be Jan Hunnicutt's blog.
Don't forget to leave comments at all of the blogs (including mine) along the hop - randomly selected hoppers will have the opportunity to win some goodies! Who doesn't like prizes? :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH for stopping by today! Have a festive and safe holiday weekend!
